Twilight Rut Strut

Twilight Rut Strut

Sunday 20th October 2019

Time: 14.00 – 18.00

We invite you to discover the unforgettable seasonal phenomenon of bellowing stags on our new RSPB guided Red Deer Rut Struts in Riggindale, Haweswater.

This seasonal behaviour is an infamous aspect of Red Deer courtship, or ‘rut’, and is a joy to watch and hear. Once we reach the viewing point of Riggindale, you will be able to enjoy the elaborate display, complete with a delicious sweet pastry.

With the evening drawing in we will make our way back to Mardale Head car park before sunset, spotting wildlife as we walk.

You are welcome to bring your own scopes or binoculars, however there will also be the option to borrow this equipment.

Please be aware that this event includes a 1.5 mile walk. The return walk will be in low light, however torches will be provided. Suitable for ages 14 and above.

For more information, enquiries and to book, please visit the link provided.

The event meeting point address is: RSPB Haweswater, Mardal Head car park, Bampton, Cumbria, CA10 2RP.
